Calliaghstown Pony Club
Welcome to the Calliaghstown branch of the Irish Pony Club
About Us
Formed in 1996 by a group of parents keen to further develop their children's horse riding skills Calliaghstown Pony Club is a member of the Irish Pony Club. The branch is run on a voluntary basis by members parents.

The Irish Pony Club is the main equestrian organisation in Ireland providing training in all disciplines of equestrian activities for young people up to the age of 23.

Calliaghstown Pony Club is different to the majority of Irish Pony Club branches in that most of our members don't own ponies. We work in partnership with Calliaghstown Equestrian Centre using their school ponies to bring members through the Irish Pony Club training or proficiency programme. Irish Pony Club proficiency tests take members from basic riding skills in the D test through a series of test levels up to advanced riding, You don't have to take lessons at Calliaghstown Equestrian Centre to join.
In addition members get to experience the wider equestrian world though events like Arena Eventing, Polo, Vaulting, Beach Rides and visits to places like the Irish Army Equitation School.
The Irish Pony Club doesn't have an official minimum age but members should be able to ride unassisted before joining. We have members aged from about 8 years who joined once they were off the lead rein, although this is up to the discretion of the branch District Commissioners. The maximum age is 23.
